Health and Welfare Lasting
Power of Attorney
When you have a Health and Welfare Lasting Power of Attorney, your chosen attorneys can make choices about your healthcare, declining life-saving treatment, transitioning to a care facility, managing your social care, and handling your daily activities like eating, medication, bathing, and dressing. This type of Power of Attorney is only activated when you are no longer able to make decisions for yourself.

Registration Fee
The registration fee for a Lasting Power of Attorney with the Office of Public Guardian (OPG) is £92* per Lasting Power of Attorney.
In some cases, you may qualify for an exemption (registration is free) or a remission (you only pay part of the fee).
